How to draw a human body

The spine is the support of the body, and the one that allows the mobility of the torso. Its upright shape differentiates the human from other species, but it is not a straight line, but a curvilinear one, its arrangement gives the pelvis and the rib cage a slight inclination. To visualize it better, it is divided into three parts:

The legs must support the body and give it the balance it needs, but there is a detail that sometimes escapes us: the legs do not have completely vertical lines, for there to be balance, there must be a rhythm; notice the slight inclination that the femur possesses from the hip to the knee, and in figure [B] the curves that create the contour of the leg looking at it from the side.

To check this, I have the following example: two adults, a man and a woman. Although the female figure is shorter, her body is divided into 7 heads (which fits within the standard) and the male figure is barely a third taller.

Making references with straight lines, curves and figures, is the first step you must take into account to be able to make your full body drawing. This will help you to have a base to add reference geometric shapes to simulate the other parts of the body.  From here, we are going to add figures that will serve as a guide to start with the silhouette of a human body.  2. Shape the Body Based on Similar Figures It is important that after step one, you begin to make a reference of the body as such, this will be done with geometric figures or as you wish as long as it has similarities with the various parts of the body. Next, in the image you will notice more clearly what I explain: In the image you can notice that each limb and part of the human body is represented in not exact figures in order to help you to make the real silhouette.  3. Mold Reference Lines for the SilhouetteYou must mold the drawing, how will you do it? Following the edge of the drawing you currently have, this will count as the final silhouette of the body you make. You can make this silhouette with a black fine tip marker so you can erase the lines that are left over.  Now I leave you an image to give you a better idea about the silhouette of a complete body:

The quality of the mannequins is very important since it must be able to adopt the corporal postures maintaining the anatomical relations between the members, to give an image of natural movement to serve as model for the Drawing of the Human figure.  In learning to draw the human figure it is very common for the apprentice to use these wooden models in order to study the figure, the shape, the proportion of the human body, and it is also used to understand the use of the shadow.
